Last week you voted, and Men in Black won! If you’ve stumbled on this page because you’re looking for information on the Men in Black movies, I’m sorry to tell you that’s not what this article is about. However, if you’d like to learn what the movies are based on, by all means, stick around.
So the men in black are men who dress in (you guessed it) black suits. They are said to go around disguised as government agents and question/harass those people who’ve claimed to see or be part of an alien encounter. Many people speculate that maybe these Men in Black are aliens themselves, or that they aren’t really human, maybe a kind of clone of a human with very little real-world experience. The term can also be used to describe any government agent who is associated with keeping paranormal or mysterious instances under wraps. They are always associated with close encounters.
While it’s true that they wear dark suits, there are other characteristics that people attribute to the MIB. It’s said that while they are typically aloof, they also exude a strange vibe. They’ve been described as lipless, bald, identical to one another, and having a very monotone, robotic voice.
The earliest known account of a men in Black sighting was in 1947 when one Harold Dahl was warned not to talk about a UFO he’d witnessed on Maury Island. “The Ufologist John Keel claimed to have encounters with Men in Black, and referred to them as “demonic supernaturals” with “dark skin and/or “exotic” facial features”. According to ufologist Jerome Clark, reports of Men in Black represent “experiences” that “don’t seem to have occurred in the world of consensus reality” Source
“Mysterious men dressed in Air Force uniforms or all in black and bearing impressive credentials from government agencies have been silencing UFO witnesses. We have checked a number of these cases, and these men are not connected to the Air Force in any way. We haven’t been able to find out anything about these men. By posing as Air Force officers and government agents, they are committing a Federal offense. We would sure like to catch one, unfortunately the trail is always too cold by the time we hear about these cases, but we are still trying.”
“One night a large UFO showed up and hovered over the base for about forty minutes. Everybody saw it. We were all pilots and we knew it wasn’t ours. We could also tell because the brass didn’t know what it was either. When it left, it took off at phenomenal speed. The next day a bunch of black sedans showed up on the base. Each one had four guys all dressed in black with hats. They got out and went to every building on the base and “encouraged” us not to talk about what we saw. I’m not easily intimidated. I know how to use a firearm and I’ve flown in combat conditions, but these guys meant business.”
One sighting reports a man who was in Washington, DC when he found himself at the State Office Building. He went in to take a look around, but before long he was asked by security to leave. Before he could, the elevator at the end of the hall opened and five figures stepped out. Two of these men were dressed in normal gray suits. While the gray suits were nice, there wasn’t anything out of place about those men. However, behind those men were three other men dressed all in black. They were pale, and gave off a weird vibe. They walked toward the tourist, and one of the Men in Black tripped, his portfolio falling and scattering over the floor. The tourist helped him up, but the man had trouble standing, as if his legs were weak or he wasn’t precisely used to using them. Under his black suit, the tourist could feel how frail the man was, and it felt as though his clothing was padded with wool. The tourist also helped him gather the belongings that spilled on the floor and he reported seeing a coin with one side depicting the bust of a man who looked rather woolfish, and the other side lines of longitude and two crescent moons.
There are many people who think the MIB are manufactured androids or clones of humans. The above sighting could support this theory with the man not fully knowing how to work his legs and being clumsy. I’ve read other reports where people saw Men in Black, and they were having trouble with everyday items, like how to use utensils.
Whether you believe in the Men in Black or not, the mythos surrounding them is very interesting. It’s hard to do them justice with a blog post, and I encourage you to research them more because the amount of sightings of Men in Black out there is staggering and frightening. I believe in UFOs. I entertain the possibility of Men in Black in some fashion or another and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to cross them…however, running into them would be pretty freaking awesome to experience. So, if there’s any Men in Black out there reading this blog post now, hi! Let’s hang out 😀
