So, this isn’t a cooking blog, but one of my favorite things to do (when I’m not writing) is cooking. The other day I posted something about food on my Facebook page and people went
bat shit crazy bonkers over it. That lead me to realize one thing: people love food!!!!! Not just me! EVERYONE(!) loves food!
I write fantasy, and I love reading it too! A lot of the authors make the characters eat like they would in medieval times. Now that’s not fun! If people love food, and you have magic readily available, then it stands to reason that these wizards would devise a great way to cook, just like scientists and engineers did for us!!!!! So, my characters eat well. And so do I!
A side effect of being a creative person is: I love playing around with recipes too, and so I’ve made several variations of this recipe. Traditionally we have this loaf of bread for breakfast on Christmas morning. We’ve had sausage bread on Christmas for as long as I can remember, and we still do. AND I’m going to share that recipe with you!!!!!
1 loaf of bread dough (frozen or homemade)
1 lbs of breakfast sausage
2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1) Cook the sausage and chopped onions together until done, breaking the sausage into granules as it cooks. When it’s done, drain it in a colander over a bowl to get all of the extra grease out.
2) Spread the dough in a large rectangle and place sausage mixture and cheese inside. Roll the dough up so it’s a long thin loaf so it bakes properly.
3) Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 until golden brown and done, about 20-25 minutes.
I would love to hear what you think of this recipe!!!!! If you make it, please let me know what you think.
Also, did you like this edition? Would you like to see a little more of my recipes on here? Let me know! 😀
